The portraits are painted in a classical style, reminiscent of the Old Masters, in oil on canvas and to the requested measurements.

Although sittings are preferred whenever possible at an address suitable to both parties, Eric Gould can also rely on photographs, videos or films, especially when supported by some form of personal communication: this to enable him to have a better insight of his subject’s personality. He has executed portraits of three well known writers, his work being based not only on personal acquaintance but also by his study of their work. To that effect an array of material may be suitable, like personal letters, life stories, detailed CV, significant events in the life of the subject…

The prices vary according to the size and complexity of the work, starting at $1,500 for a small portrait. The cost of international postage is additional.
